I feel it looks best in it's untouched original state and is much too nice to refinish. I've resisted any temptation to touch up or repaint the legs or cabinet. Everything has been done to keep this game running smoothly and reliably for years to come. The bulbs maintain the original classic look of the game but run cool and will last the life of the game as well. The main 110 volt illumination bulbs for the playfield and runners were switched to high quality LED bulbs for a great improvement overall. Brand new, correct 10 amp fuses were installed and new leg levelers also installed. The play field and runner assembly were both thoroughly cleaned and polished. The scoring reels were all cleaned and serviced. The ball tracks were removed and cleaned, the pitch assembly was cleaned, adjusted and lubricated along with the bat assembly. All contact points inside the game were cleaned and new bulbs were installed for scoring and features, etc. The backglass is basically flawless with vibrant color and no peeling or flaking. This particular example has just the right amount of patina and character so that you can tell it's the real deal and not a reproduction. This game is very original and cosmetically mostly untouched except for cleaning and detailing. The cabinet sides feature glass cutouts and mechanical base runners operate at the top of the play field. The machine keeps track of total grand slams and total home runs for a player's game. The play field has three home run ramps to launch the ball into the home run deck and holes for singles, out, and sacrifice flies to name a few. This game appears to be wearing most all of its original paint, even on the legs. The cabinet has been cleaned and detailed, but the original paint scheme was not disturbed. As you can see from the pictures this one is all original with all wood cleaned and in great shape. The 1957 Deluxe came with all wood trim and control panel but used metal legs. Generally considered to be the most memorable and "classic" of the 1950's Williams pitch and bat games. This game is a single player game with one pitch selection. The place is a reminder of simpler times and really hasn't changed that much in the last 30 years or so. I spent a good bit of time in this exact arcade as a kid.
