She organized the South American debut of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour in Chile. Liz McGregor, Producer of Marketing & Distribution Liz has directed and produced projects from full length documentaries to shorts and commercials. She lives in Fairfax, CA, and loves biking on the road, on the mountain, and to and from school with her two daughters. She is co-editor of Culture Jamming: Activism and the Art of Cultural Resistance (NYU Press). ![]() Her teaching and research areas include social movements, environmental communication, and rhetorical criticism. Marilyn DeLaure, Producer Marilyn is an Associate Professor in the Communication Studies and Environmental Studies programs at the University of San Francisco. Liz is a Brown University grad and former bike racer who lives in the hills of Marin County, CA with her husband and teenage twins. ![]() The 2007 feature doc, Girls Rock!,was released in theaters nationwide and featured five animated sequences created by Liz to demonstrate the cultural forces affecting young girls. Liz's 1995 short, Handmirror/Brush Set Included was broadcast on PBS and at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. Thinking about our children’s future, they are clean modes of transport, with no toxic emissions associated and therefore could also be termed climate change fighting machines in my view. They enable efficient, speedy movement from A to B, with precious cargo on board, whilst allowing enjoyment of fresh air, being out in the community, and exercise. ![]() They bring such joy to any journey What is it about cargo bikes that make them so revolutionary for so many parents?Įverything about them is positive, whether that be for parents and families or those without children. ![]() Cargo bikes seem to act as a symbol for a wider metaphor in the documentary – what do you think they symbolise?įor me, they symbolise freedom, utility, cleaner living, flexibility and most importantly fun and happiness.
